Panama is more than a place to study—it’s a place to experience. From world-renowned landmarks to hidden natural gems, our short-term programs give students a chance to explore the cultural, historical, and ecological richness of the country. Here are some of the immersive destinations included in our study abroad experiences:

Panama Canal

A marvel of modern engineering and one of the most important trade routes in the world, the Panama Canal offers an unforgettable learning experience. Visits include Miraflores Visitor Center, interactive exhibits, and live observation of ships in transit.

Rainforest Excursions

Explore Panama’s tropical rainforests in protected national parks like Soberanía or Gamboa. Learn about biodiversity, conservation, and the role of the rainforest in global ecology through guided nature walks and fieldwork.

Casco Viejo

This UNESCO World Heritage site combines colonial architecture with modern culture. Walk through cobblestone streets lined with historic churches, plazas, museums, and cafes—perfect for cultural and historical immersion.

Isla Grande & Portobelo

On Panama’s Caribbean coast, these beachside towns blend natural beauty with Afro-Caribbean history. Portobelo is rich in colonial fortifications, while Isla Grande offers stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters for relaxation and reflection.

Bocas del Toro

Located on the northwestern Caribbean coast, Bocas is known for its marine biodiversity, island life, and laid-back charm. Students often participate in conservation work, snorkeling, or cultural exchange in these vibrant island communities.

Emberá Villages

Meet one of Panama’s Indigenous communities and learn about their traditions, crafts, language, and sustainable way of life. Visits to Emberá villages in the Chagres River basin foster deep cross-cultural understanding.

Taboga Island

Just a short ferry ride from Panama City, Taboga is known as the “Island of Flowers.” It offers students a chance to unwind, reflect, and enjoy a peaceful environment perfect for cultural journaling or small-group discussions.

Company Visits

Panama is a regional hub for banking, logistics, and international trade. Our programs often include site visits to multinational companies, free zones, NGOs, and public institutions to give students insight into global business in action.

Service Learning Experiences

Students engage in hands-on community work with local schools, non-profits, or environmental organizations. These projects foster leadership, empathy, and civic responsibility while creating lasting impact.
